Livnate — minimal-prep veneers
Livnate (리브네이트) is our own name for a minimal-preparation veneer approach to the front teeth. It is not a standard dental term you will find elsewhere. The idea behind it is straightforward: change the shape and shade of a front tooth while removing as little of the tooth itself as the case allows.
What it is for
- Improving the appearance of the front teeth.
- Discoloured teeth, or teeth with an irregular shape.
- Cases where you would rather keep as much of your own tooth as possible.
Veneers are cosmetic treatment. They do not treat decay or gum disease, and anything like that is dealt with first.
How the treatment goes
- 01Consultation and designWe talk about the shape and shade you have in mind, and a digital simulation shows what is and is not achievable on your teeth.
- 02Minimal preparationWhere preparation is needed at all, only the surface is reduced — around 0.3 to 0.5 mm.
- 03Made for your teethEach veneer is made individually rather than chosen from a standard set.
- 04Bonding and finishingThe veneers are bonded, the bite is adjusted and the edges are finished.
Seeing a preview before the teeth are touched matters here, because the design is the part you live with. How the result looks depends on the shape, colour and position of your own teeth, so it differs from person to person.
Questions we are often asked
What is the difference between Livnate and a conventional veneer?
Livnate is our name for an approach that removes less tooth structure than a conventional veneer. The priority is keeping your own enamel where that is possible. Which approach suits your teeth is decided after an examination.
How many visits does it take?
Usually two to three visits — a consultation and design appointment, then the fitting and bonding once the veneers are made.
Is it covered by insurance?
No. Veneers are cosmetic treatment and are not covered by National Health Insurance. We will go through the fee with you at the consultation, before anything is started.
Can everyone have it?
No. It depends on the condition of the teeth, the bite and the gums. If your teeth are not suited to it we will say so and talk about other options.
